The GenderSci Lab is Recruiting New Research Assistants for Fall 2024

** THIS OPPORTUNITY IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO CURRENTLY ENROLLED HARVARD COLLEGE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS***

Are you interested in:

  • Advancing feminist concepts, methods, and theories in scientific research on sex and gender?

  • Participating in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that focuses on generating innovative approaches to gender/sex studies in the biomedical sciences?

  • Engaging in research that aims to counter bias and hype in sex difference research and enhance public discourse surrounding the sciences of sex and gender?

  • Analyzing the implications of biological claims about gender and sexual diversity for law and public policy?

If these questions resonate with your interests and goals, the GenderSci Lab might be the perfect place for you to engage in meaningful and impactful research!

During the open house, you’ll have the chance to meet Lab Director Sarah Richardson and Lab Manager Atlas Sanogo.

They will provide an overview of the lab’s work, discuss opportunities for engagement, and outline our expectations. 

Following the presentation, we will share a form for those interested in progressing through our selection process. 

If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in joining the lab,  please get in touch with us ahead of time so we can accommodate alternative ways of getting the information and form. 

What to Expect:

  • Weekly Lab Meetings: Wednesdays, 10:00 - 11:30 AM

  • Opportunities for Course Credit: Available

  • Publication Opportunities: Available

  • Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week

  • Lab Position: Unpaid (but could lead to future paid opportunities)

Our lab welcomes Harvard undergraduates from all disciplines, including social sciences and humanities, who have an interest in collaborative, interdisciplinary research and feminist science. This is a unique chance to become part of a dynamic team, as we only onboard new members once a year. If you’re interested, this is the perfect time to join!
