The GenderSci Lab is looking for two undergraduate research assistants to assist with the lab’s current project analyzing sex & gender disparities in COVID-19 outcomes. The GenderSci Lab is dedicated to generating feminist concepts, methods and theories for scientific research on sex and gender and works to advance the intersectional study of gender in the biomedical and allied sciences, counter bias and hype in sex difference research, and enhance public discourse surrounding the sciences of sex and gender.
Job Description & Qualifications: The research assistant’s work will include collecting and validating state-level public health data for our US Gender/Sex COVID-19 Data Tracker and US State COVID-19 Report Card projects. No statistical background is required, but applicants should be detail-orientated and well-versed in Excel. The position is open to all concentrations/majors at Harvard and anyone with an interest in interdisciplinary feminist science studies. Hours will be roughly 4-6 hours a week, paid at a rate of $15/hour. This position is work study eligible. Non-Harvard undergraduates may apply but will need to procure their own funding source.
Application: We are seeking to fill these positions as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we hope to fill the positions by mid-February 2021. Applicants should send a resume, one reference contact, and a brief paragraph explaining interest and relevant experiences to genderscilab@gmail.com.
